Tropical Storm Bonnie is finally being felt here in Central Florida. It took most of the morning but the rain is pouring right now in Orange, Brevard, Lake, Osceola and Sumter Counties. As a few of the squalls moved on shore in Brevard County they are moving to the East at about 20-25 mph but they are packing wind gust up to about 40 mph or greater. So when you get the action it is the double punch of heavy rain and high wind. So far, no funnels or water spouts but they can’t be ruled out as long as the squalls keep coming.

The showers this afternoon will continue well into the evening.

The rest of the weekend starts to shape up. There will be rain chances, but we won’t have to fight the wind.

High Saturday will be about 93. Sunday the high will be right at 95. Rain chances go back to 40% both days. Most of those showers will be in the afternoon.

Check back in for more updates later. I’ll have a full rundown of T.S. Bonnie, the weekend and beyond on The 6 O’Clock News on Local 6.
